Welcome to 2nd Grade
Welcome to the new school year!
I want your child to have a fun and successful year in 2nd grade. Below you will find information to help you and your child have a successful school year!
School begins promptly at 8:25 a.m. and ends at 3:10 p.m.
Breakfast 7:45-8:10 Lunch 11:25-12:00
A successful school experience is the responsibility of the children, the
parent, and the school. Your child's progress, both academically and socially, is influenced to great extent by daily participation. Regular attendance without tardiness is key.
It is important that you discuss and come up with an after school transportation plan with your child. If your transportation plan is different than usual, you will need to send a written note or contact the office. For your child's safety, if I do not receive a written note or phone call, your child will be sent home by his/her usual method of transportation.
Please look in your child's backpack each day. School news, daily work, classroom news, and homework will be in your child's take-home folder. This folder will come daily and will need to be sent back to school the next day. Please send all notes, money, and other important things you want me to find in your child's take home folder.
Every Monday, your child will receive a classroom newsletter and reading log. This newsletter will include vocabulary words, spelling words, teacher tips, and any other pertinent information related to the weekly activities. Please sign the reading log each night after your and your child read our weekly story.
Ice Cream Day:
Every Friday ice cream will be sold in the gymnasium. Cost is .50 and $2.00.
Birthdays and Treats:
Celebrations are great! At this time, Liberty School has implemented a no snacks policy, therefore we can not celebrate birthdays in the classroom. The school recognize your child during morning announcements. Also, our class will sing "Happy Birthday!"
Your child will have the opportunity to order books for your home library each month. The book orders are from Scholastic Books and will be sent home each month.
Any person wishing to visit the campus is required to sign in at the office and wear a visitors badge. Please see Ms. Tra or Ms. Brenda, they will be happy to assist you.
Your child's educational needs are very important to me . Therefore, please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. I am excited to have your child in my class and am looking forward to a great year.
